It’s strange the turns life takes. When Wombat Rescue was founded it was primarily about the work out there. In the field. The rescue side of things that includes mange treatment. And although I now get average 5 callouts per week I find myself looking at this little girl (and Raye) and think this is right. I was meant to be her carer. Our sanctuary is way more of a home than your typical wildlife rehabilitation facility. Wombats are notoriously difficult to care for but we quickly found out that they respond so much better to absolute comfort, love, inclusion and freedom of choice. Hence the creation of our cage free sanctuary which embodies exactly these qualities.
