Mega project mapping! Snowy 2.0, our 2,200 megawatt pumped-hydro mega project, is a big build! We need extensive, accurate surveying and geospatial data from above ground and deep underground, where we're excavating about 40 kilometres of tunnels and a huge power station cavern the size of two football fields! Snowy Hydro is working with Australian geospatial information specialist, IntelliSpatial which is utilising world's best practice, high definition 3D models to help us deliver the project.

💥 Having a blast! 💥 The Snowy 2.0 power station will have a generation capacity of 2,200 megawatts and we're excavating one of the largest underground cavern complexes in the world to house the six pumped-hydro units and supporting infrastructure. That means a lot of drill and blast work! The total to be excavated for the main power station caverns is: 🛠️machine hall 310,000m3 🛠️transformer hall 160,000m3 In this video below, see how the blasting process is carried out, from the precise blas
