This is Hoag's Object, one of the rarest and most mysterious galaxies ever discovered. ​What makes it so weird? It's two objects in one, with almost nothing in between. The center is a tight ball of ancient, yellow stars, while the outer loop is a perfect ring of brand-new, hot, blue stars. Hoag's Object. Its formation is still unclear, but it is considered "The most perfect ring galaxy". It's 600 million light-years away and was captured in detail with the Hubble Space Telescope. My quest was to see if I could capture it with my small telescope. I plugged in the coordinates of where it is and let my telescope do the rest. And success!
