Removing a cervical stitch (also known as a cerclage) is a simple, quick procedure, typically done at 36 weeks of pregnancy or later. It’s often performed in the clinic or on an OPD (outpatient) basis and doesn’t require anaesthesia! Here’s how it’s done: 👉 We use an instrument called a speculum to gently expose the cervix. 👉 The stitch looks like a white thread with a knot.
