Detroit Lions Waive Tight End
The Detroit Lions have made an unfortunate decision on veteran tight end Ross Dwelley. After signing cornerback Arthur Maulet, the team waived the former 49ers tight end in a corresponding move. This season, Dwelley recorded two receptions for 11 yards and appeared in 11 games his first season in Motown.
Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell hired Tyler Roehl to coach TEs after first meeting him at North Dakota State's pro day in 2021.
The Lions play on the road for three of their final four games and are on the outside looking in on the NFC playoff battle.

Report: Detroit Lions position coach being poached by Iowa State
The Detroit Lions’ coaching staff is already getting poached again, with Tyler Roehl expected to be named Iowa State’s new OC.
Christian Booher: The loss of Brian Branch is a brutal one for Detroit’s defense. Because of the timing and severity of the injury, there’s a chance he misses time next year and that would be a big loss for the Lions. Branch is one of the most versatile defenders in the league at his best, and will not be easily replaced.
With playoff hopes still up in the air, the Lions are up against one of the largest favorites against them in years.
